2004 Super Bowl Gambling

The 2004 Super Bowl will be
held in Houston, Texas on February 1, 2004. It is estimated that Super Bowl
gambling at offshore sports books will surpass the total amount of wagers placed
in Las Vegas. The experts are expecting record amounts of players gambling on
the Super Bowl this year.
Chris Costigan from Gambling911.com
states that "most of the books I do business with increased their customer base
anywhere from 20 percent to more than 100 percent over the last 12 months, so it
is fair to assume that the amount wagered on the 2004 Super Bowl will be much
more than last year."
One of the books Chris is
referring to is Bet Millennium Online Sportsbook. Over the last 12 months "our sportsbook
has quadrupled the number of active players" states Tom Miller. Tom believes
this year "will be HUGE for every sportsbook if there are two public favorites
like Green Bay v. Indy or the Eagles v. the Patriots." Those matches are a real
possibility going into week 2 of the NFL playoffs. Tom continues, "Favre is
nearing the end of his career and playing inspiring football with the recent
death of his father, this year could be huge!"
Both the Vegas and Offshore
Sports books are hoping to break the all time Super Bowl gambling handle record
set in 1998 when quarterback Brett Favre battled against John Elway in Super
Bowl XXXII.
