2006 Week 9 AP Top 25 Poll
Week 9 AP Top 25: The AP Top 25 College Football Poll is determined by the nation's top sportswriters.
The Buckeyes remain #1 and the Wolverines remain #2. The Texas Longhorns moved up two spots to #5; they beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers on a last second Longhorns field goal by kicker Ryan Bailey. Quarterback Colt McCoy completed 25 of 39 passes for 220 yards, including touchdown passes of 6 yards to Quan Cosby and 55 yards to wide receiver Limas Sweed. The Florida Gators dropped to #9. Louisville and Clemson each jumped two positions to #6 and #10 respectively. Clemson dominated Georgia Tech beating them 31 - 7. Running back James Davis rushed for a career high 216 yards with two touchdowns. Running back C.J. Spiller had a 50-yard touchdown run and a 50-yard TD catch.
