The 10 1/2 point spread underdogs' East Carolina Pirates ended up beating the Boise State Broncos 41-38 in the 2007 Hawaii Bowl. East Carolina took a 31-14 lead in the first half and the Broncos fought back in the second half, tying the score at 38 late in the fourth quarter. With the final seconds remaining in the game, East Carolina's Ben Hartman made a 34-yard game-winning field goal as time expired.
