NFL Kick-Off August 3rd Means Online Wagering is Here!by BetUS StaffPlease, don't tell me that it makes no sense to wager on NFL Pre-Season games. Why? Because it makes absolute sense to start making money on NFL games right now! This includes the Hall-of-Fame Game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Washington Redskins on August 3rd. Now, before all of you fellow BetUS online sportsbook NFL betting fans tear me a new one, let me explain why football wagering on NFL Pre-Season games is a smart thing to do. The reason is simple. The football wagering lines are going to be way out of whack in a lot of these pre-season games. Online oddsmakers will not be in tune to which starters will play in which games and for how long. NFL coaches won't be concerned about winning these games. That means that LaDanian Tomlinson, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Drew Brees won't be out there too long before getting the hook. How can NFL gambling fans take advantage? By concentrating on the sports betting lines in each game while keeping in mind how long each respective starter in each game is going to play. Let's take a look at this weekend's NFL Pre-Season games and see if we can come up with some clues as to which way the games will go. Visit BOVADA and start winning TODAY! August 3rd Game Indianapolis Colts vs. Washington Redskins - - Redskins - 6 over/under 31 - - The Skins are favored and they probably should be playing at home against a veteran team that won't be looking to play Peyton, Joseph Addai, Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne too long in this game. I have to admit that from my perspective the oddsmakers might have this one right. The Skins should win this game by at least a touchdown. They are the younger team and their coach, Jim Zorn, will be looking to impress the hometown fans in his first full game as the head guy. I expect Washington to come out fired up. I like the Redskins to cover the NFL Football wagering spread. August 7th Games New York Giants vs. Detroit Lions - - Lions - 3 over/under 33 - - This is the kind of spread I am talking about. The oddsmakers have no idea what's going to happen in this game. So they make the home team a usual NFL 3 point type favorite. I do have an idea of what's going to happen in this game. The Giants are going to get beat by around 14 points or so. Why? Because there's no way that Coach Tom Coughlin for the Giants does anything but see what sort of third or fourth or fifth string players he's got. The Lions have a defense full of young guys trying to make the team. Coughlin knows what he's got. Why get those fellas hurt? I like the Lions to turn things up and squash the online betting spread. Baltimore Ravens vs. New England Patriots - - Ravens + 5 over/under 35 - - This is a goofy spread. I mean, how hard is Belichick going to work this Patriots' squad? The Ravens are the play at + 5 in this game. Hell, they might even win it with Belichick simply having Tom Brady stand on the sidelines looking dashing. Baltimore will be looking to find a starting quarterback. What will the Patriots' goal be in this game? To make sure that all of their old players don't get hurt. I love the Ravens to beat this online wagering spread. Kansas City Chiefs vs. Chicago Bears - - Chiefs + 3 over/under 33 - - The Chiefs travel to Chicago to take on a Bears team that has had a terrible off-season. The Bears just aren't that good any more, even on paper, but the Chiefs could be improving. I like the Chiefs at + 3 only because Herm Edwards has to give his starters some work while the Bears, well, I just can't see them playing with any fire at all in this game. Lovie Smith will be intent on finding a real running back. That means a lot of up the middle type plays. Herm might let Bradie Croyle throw the ball down the field some. I'm going with the Chiefs. New Orleans Saints vs. Arizona Cardinals - - Saints + 3 over/under 36 - - This has to be the pre-season play of the first week, right? I mean, there is no way that Sean Payton for the Saints doesn't call downfield passes for second-string quarterback Mark Brunell. Payton will be looking to find the third and fourth wide receivers in his crazy offensive sets. The Cardinals need to decide who their starter at quarterback is going to be. The Cardinals just don't seem to have talent after their first string. Their first string will play maybe one or two series, if that, which means that there should be a decided drop-off after those series. The Saints will try to capitalize every time they get the ball. That's their offensive system. Payton will call nutty plays for everybody. No running up the middle here. I expect the Saints to put up a lot of point because they almost have to playing the Cardinals. This is true even if the Saints start their third and fourth stringers on offense. --- by BetUS at 1800-sports.com on July 31, 2008
