Team Bodog Pro Josh Arieh Wins Pot Limit Omaha Event at 2008 Wynn Classic

March 20, 2008

Team Bodog pro Josh Arieh proved once again that he is one of the best Pot Limit Omaha players in the world by taking down the $1,000 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha with Re-buys event at the 2008 Wynn Classic on Thursday, March 13, at the Wynn Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. The two-time World Series of Poker bracelet-winner from Atlanta, Ga., beat out a formidable field of 57 players as well as a tough final table that included Pot Limit Omaha ace Ted Lawson. Along with the title, Arieh earned $59,364 for his victory.

"This kind of performance is what the poker world has come to expect from a two-time WSOP bracelet winner like Josh," says Morris Mohawk Gaming Group CEO Alwyn Morris. "We are extremely proud of his victory, and we know that this is just a taste of what 2008 holds in store for Team Bodog at the poker tables."

Considered by many to be the toughest and most skilled form of poker, Pot Limit Omaha has long been a specialty of Arieh's. He captured his second WSOP bracelet in the game when he won the $2,000 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha event at the 2005 WSOP, and in 2000, he finished second in the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha event at the WSOP.

Along with his two WSOP-bracelet wins, Arieh also memorably finished third at the 2005 WSOP Main Event. With more than $4.5 million in winnings in live tournaments during the past four years, Arieh also has several large online poker tournament cashes to his name.

As a Team Bodog pro, Arieh regularly plays poker online at Bodog where he hosts his own $3-$6 No-Limit Holdem table. Online poker players at Bodog also have the chance to take on Arieh heads-up for $1,000 by winning tournaments in the Bodog Poker room and finishing atop Bodog's Tournament Leader Board on any given week.
