2010 NFL Week 15 Predictions New York Jets vs Pittsburgh Steelers![]() Ben Roethlisberger Steelers Quarterback 2010 NFL Week 15 Predictions - Bet Jets vs Steelers - Sunday, December 19th, 4:15PM ET CBS The 2010 NFL week 15 predictions on the Pro football betting season are out on the New York Jets vs the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday late afternoon football match-up. This Sunday the New York Jets head to Heinz Field as a 6 1/2 point underdog to battle the Pittsburgh Steelers. The New York Jets offense vs the Pittsburgh Steelers defense favor the Steelers. The Jets are 12th in yards and 18th in points, while the Steelers are 4th in yards allowed and 2nd in points allowed. The one thing that you can do on this defense is throw the ball. The Steelers are 23rd in passing defense. The problem with the Jets is that the only way they can throw the ball is if they are running the ball well. It will be hard for this 6th ranked rushing offense to run against the number 1 team in rushing defense that is only giving up 60 yards a game. If the Jets can somehow run the ball, they have a chance. The only issue is that the Jets are going up against a team that gets to the quarterback as well as anybody and get turnovers as well as anybody. The 2010 NFL week 15 predictions advantage goes to the Steelers. Check out BOVADA and start winning NOW! The Pittsburgh Steelers offense vs the New York Jets defense favor the Jets. The Steelers are 19th in yards and 16th in points, while the Jets are 3rd in yards allowed and 6th in points allowed. The matchup to watch is the 10th ranked rushing offense against the 3rd ranked rushing defense. In order for the Steelers to run the ball well, there passing game needs to step up. Even though the Jets are 9th in passing defense, they still give up big plays in the passing game. But still, the Steelers don't protect the quarterback, and the Jets are good in getting pressure on the quarterback along with getting fumble recoveries. 2010 NFL predictions advantage goes to the Jets The special teams are a good matchup. The Jets are 4th in kickoff return average and 15th in punt return average, while the Steelers are 8th in kickoff return average and 24th in punt return average. The Jets are 6th in kickoff return average allowed and 17th in punt return average allowed, while the Steelers are 5th in kickoff return average allowed and 15th in punt return average allowed. This matchup is pretty even. This will go down to which kicker will have more touchbacks and which punter can punt the ball inside the 20 more. Looking at the Stats, it looks like the Jets are better in both parts, so I will give the slight 2010 NFL week 15 predictions advantage to the Jets. Both teams have two good coaching minds. The head coach of the Jets, Rex Ryan, was the defensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens who was one of the greatest defenses when he was there. He brought in his system to the Jets and they are executing his defense perfectly. The offensive coordinator of the Jets, Brian Schottenheimer, comes from his father Marty Schottenheimer who coached the San Diego Chargers to being one of the best offenses in his time there. Brian helps this offense and has a great running offense that sets up the passing game. The Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and defensive coordinator Dick Lebeau has one of the greatest defensive minds in the league. The Steelers defensive players are good, but then take these 2 great minds and this defense is great. On offense, usually Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger takes control of it. You can't go wrong with any coaching staff, and there is really no advantage in this one. What I am going to look at is the experience of the quarterbacks that can understand how to make the right calls on the fly. The Jets quarterback can't do that yet, but the Steelers quarterback has done it for a while now. So I will give the slight advantage to the Steelers. My 2010 NFL week 15 predictions on the New York Jets vs the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday late afternoon football game is out. You want to talk about a great defensive matchup, this is it. I love matchups like this. It will go down to which team can run the ball better in order to set up the play action pass. The Steelers are a little better in the play action passing game. The Jets haven't been playing good as of late, and I think it is because the offense is not doing anything. I just believe that the Steelers are going to get a bunch of turnovers and I think the Steelers are going to win because of that, 23-10. --- by Eric Price at 1800-sports.com on December 15, 2010
