2011 NFL Playoff Picks - Bet Packers vs Falcons - Saturday, January 15th, 8:00pm EST FOX

The 2011 NFL Playoff picks divisional round on the 2010-2011 NFL football betting season are out on the Green Bay Packers vs the Atlanta Falcons Saturday night football match-up. This Saturday the Green Bay Packers head to the Georgia Dome as a 2 1/2 point underdog to battle the Green Bay Packers.

The Green Bay Packers offense vs the Atlanta Falcons defense is a good matchup. The Packers are 8th in yards and 10th in points, while the Falcons are 16th in yards allowed but 5th in points allowed. the Packers are more of a passing team, and this should be a great matchup against this 22nd rank passing defense. the one problem with the Packers is that they give up a lot of sacks, which is good for this defense that has one of the best pass rushers in the game. the Falcons also gets a lot of interceptions, so they should have some opportunities to get some. This is a very good matchup, but I will give the slight 2011 NFL Playoff picks divisional round advantage to the Packers just because the Falcons give up too many yards, and this offense shouldn't have a problem going down the field.

The Atlanta Falcons offense vs the Green Bay Packers defense is a better matchup. The Falcons are 16th in yards but 5th in points, while the Packers are 5th in yards allowed and 2nd in points allowed. this is a good matchup. the Packers are 2nd in getting pressure on the quarterback, while the Falcons are 3rd in protecting the quarterback. The Packers are 2nd in creating turnovers, while the Falcons barely turns the ball over. The one matchup that favors the Falcons is the running game. the Falcons have one the best running back in the league in Michael Turner going up against the 18th ranked rushing defense. because of that, I'm giving the 2011 NFL picks advantage to the Falcons.

The special teams favor the Falcons. The Packers are 26th in kickoff return average and 22nd in punt return average, but the Falcons are number 1 in kickoff return average and 5th in punt return average. The Packers are 13th in kickoff return average allowed and 24th in punt return average allowed, while the Falcons are 9th in kickoff return average allowed and 13th in punt return average allowed. there's no question that the Falcons have the 2011 NFL Playoff picks advantage in this game. expect big plays coming in the special team for the Falcons.

Both teams have two good coaching minds. Packers head coach Mike McCarthy and defensive coordinator Dom Capers has the offensive and defensive schemes to counterattack anything that their opponents will show them. They also have Aaron Rodgers who controls the Packers offense. The head coach of the Falcons Mike Smith lets his quarterback Matt Ryan change plays on the fly and do what he wants on offense. The Falcons offense looks like the Indianapolis Colts' offense as far as doing no huddles, and Matt Ryan looking like Colts quarterback Peyton Manning when it comes to changing plays at the line of scrimmage (don't worry, I'm not actually comparing the 2, but just saying what the offense looks like). This is a great coaching matchup. I will give the advantage to the Packers because of the experience, and the fact that they have one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

My 2011 NFL Playoff picks divisional round on the Green Bay Packers vs Atlanta Falcons Saturday Night Football game is out. this game will have everything. Good defense from both teams, and good offense from both teams. Every phase will be successful in this game. what I could see happen is both defenses will be great in the 1st half, and then the offenses will show up in the 2nd half and score a lot of points. The Falcons should be able to run the ball effectively, which will set up the play action pass which they love to do. The Packers didn't have a running game up until last week. In order to win in the playoffs, you need to run the ball and play good defense. I said last week that is the Packers can get a running game going, they can be very dangerous, and I also said that it wouldn't happen. I was wrong on that, and now they have a running game. they are now a very dangerous team. because the Falcons are a better run defense and a bad pass defense, the Packers will start throwing the ball 1st, and then set up the running game. this is going to be a fantastic game, and it will go down to the last possession, but I will say that the Packers are going to win this game because the defense will make a play at the end of the game to win it. The Packers win this game 30-28.
