2011 NFL Playoff Predictions NFC Championship Round Packers vs Bears![]() Jay Cutler Bears Quarterback 2011 NFL Playoff Predictions - Bet Packers vs Bears - Sunday, January 23rd, 3:00pm EST FOX The 2011 NFL Playoff predictions NFC Championship round on the Pro football betting season are out on the Green Bay Packers vs the Chicago Bears Sunday late afternoon football match-up. This Sunday the Green Bay Packers head to Soldier Field as a 3 point favorite to battle their NFC North rival Chicago Bears. The Green Bay Packers offense vs the Chicago Bears defense is a great matchup. The Packers are 8th in yards and 10th in points, while the Bears are 9th in yards allowed and 4th in points allowed. The Packers were not good in the run game during the season, 24th in rushing, but in the playoffs they have been running the ball well enough to take the pressure off of the passing game. It will be interesting to see if they can run against this 3rd ranked rushing defense. The Packers shouldn't have a problem throwing the ball against this 18th ranked passing defense; however they give up a lot of sacks. This goes well for a defense that has a very good defensive line, with the leader of the defensive line Julius Peppers that can get to the quarterback very well. Because of this, there will be some opportunities for turnovers for the Bears because the Bears are one of the best in creating turnovers. This is a great matchup, but I will give the advantage to the Bears because the Packers will not be able to run the ball against this defense, which means that this game will be all on the passing game which isn't a good thing for a team that is one of the best in creating turnovers. The 2011 NFL Playoff predictions advantage slightly goes to the Bears. Check out BOVADA and start winning NOW! The Chicago Bears offense vs the Green Bay Packers defense favor the Packers. The Bears are 30th in yards allowed and 21st in points allowed, while the Packers are 5th in yards allowed and 2nd in points allowed. If the Bears can protect the quarterback, the Bears can be very good in the passing game. Last week we saw how good this Bears team can be when they protect the quarterback. The problem with that is that they give up the most sacks and they are going up against a great passing defense that is one of the best teams in getting pressure on the quarterback. They have a dynamic pass rusher in Clay Mathews who is one of the best in getting pressure on the quarterback. The Packers are also 2nd in the league in creating turnovers which includes defensive backs Charles Woodson and Tramon Williams. The Bears need to run the ball in order to set up the passing game. The problem with that is that they were 24th in rushing during the season. Even though the Packers are just 18th in rushing defense and the Bears should be able to do something in the running game, the 2011 NFL predictions advantage still goes to the Packers. The special teams favor the Bears. The Packers are 26th in kickoff return average and 22nd in punt return average, but the Bears are 2nd in kickoff return average and 1st in punt return average. The Packers are 13th in kickoff return average allowed and 24th in punt return average allowed, while the Bears are 22nd in kickoff return average allowed but 9th in punt return average allowed. The Bears are favored in every matchup. The Bears have the most explosive returner in the game in Devin Hester. Expect the Bears to win the battle of field position, and expect at least a touchdown in the return game for the Bears. 2011 NFL Playoff predictions advantage goes to the Bears. Packers head coach Mike McCarthy and defensive coordinator Dom Capers has the offensive and defensive schemes to counterattack anything that their opponents will show them. They also have Aaron Rodgers who controls the Packers offense. The Bears have Mike Martz, offensive coordinator, Rod Marinelli, defensive coordinator and assistant head coach, and Mike Tice, offensive line coach. These 3 great minds are having the Bears play better than usual, and especially as of late. This is going to be a good matchup, but I will normally go with the coach that had the great quarterback. So I will give the advantage to the Packers. My 2011 NFL Playoff predictions NFC Championship round on the Green Bay Packers vs the Chicago Bears Sunday late afternoon football game is out. What a great matchup this is; the oldest and arguably the best rivalry in football playing in the NFC Championship game. The Bears need to protect the quarterback in order for the quarterback to make plays down the field. One of the things they can do is run screen plays to keep the Packers honest from not blitzing. The Bears have been protecting the quarterback as of late. Last time these 2 teams met, which was the last week of the season and the Packers needed to win to make the playoffs so they were more motivated in this game, the Bears were able to run the ball well, 110 yards rushing, and the Packers could not run the ball at all, 60 yards on 23 carries. If the Packers can't run the ball, they might be in trouble. In the passing game, the Bears have to get pressure on the quarterback to force him to make bad decisions and capitalize on them. If Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers get at least a little time, he will exploit this passing defense in which the bears are 20th in passing yards. The major key in this game is the special teams' game. If the Packers are able to kick the ball away from returner Devin Hester, the Packers will have a great chance in winning because they will force the Bears to have to go down the field instead of giving the Bears good field position to work with because the Bears special teams always gives their offense good field position. I don't think the Packers will be able to kick the ball away from Devin Hester the whole game, and I believe the Bears will have great field position though out this game. Meanwhile, the Bears are very good in special teams' defense and will force the Packers to have to go the length of the field. This game will be a very good game, but because of the special teams, the Bears will have the advantage in this game. The Bears win this game 24-21. --- by Eric Price at 1800-sports.com on January 18, 2011
