On June 26th Peru also started the first round with a huge victory over Uruguay. They won by a score of 3-0. Miguel Angel Villalta (27'), Juan Carlos Mario (70') and Paolo Guerrero (89') all scored goals for Peru. They lost on June 30th 2-0 against Group leader Venezuela.
