Bet On UFC - UFC 85 - BEDLAM

Matt Hughes

Welterweight Matt Hughes

UFC 84 - ILL WILL lived up to its name as there were many blows and many sports betting opportunities delivered with very bad intent. The online UFC betting fans cashed in on chalk as it was a money-making night for the favorites.

B.J. "The Prodigy" Penn and Sean "Muscle Shark" Sherk put on a great show as these two little dudes stood toe-to-toe in a great fight that ended in a third round TKO as Penn retained the belt as the -280 sports betting favorite in the online UFC wagering main event.

As the fave priced at -175, it only took the former PRIDE legend light heavyweight Wanderlei "The Axe Murderer" Silva 36 seconds of round one to knockout highly-regarded "The Dean of Mean" Keith Jardine.

Unbeaten and up and coming star Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida, who was the favorite priced at -210 in MMA odds, scored the biggest win of his career by sending the ''Huntington Beach Bad Boy'' Tito Ortiz home a loser in what was his alleged last fight in the UFC.

Next up its UFC 85 - BEDLAM as the UFC online betting action crosses the pond to invade the O2 Arena in London, England where the most dominant Welterweight Champion in UFC history, Matt Hughes (42-6-0), looks to begin his journey back to the top by facing Brazilian superstar Thaigo "Pit bull" Alves (14-3-0), who's on a five fight winning streak.

Hughes is coming off a submission loss to Georges ''Rush'' St-Pierre in December. He may be the greatest Welterweight of all-time but at 34-years-old, this may be his best and only opportunity to regain his title.

Plus Brandon "The Truth" Vera (8-1-0) wants to get back in the winning column but Fabricio "Vai Cavalo" Werdum (10-3-1) has other thoughts. Vera is coming off a decision loss to Tim Sylvia in October. Prior to that defeat, Vera was 8-0 with 7 stoppages. Werdum is coming off a victory over Gabriel Gonzaga in January.

Also on the card, home town boy Michael "The Count" Bisping (16-1-0), who is coming off a 1st round TKO of Charles McCarthy at UFC 83, will be stepping into the Octagon for just his second fight at 185-pounds. He'll be battling Jason "Dooms" Day (17-5-0) who has won 5 in a row and is coming off a 1st round TKO of Alan Belcher, also at UFC 83. Both fighters love to brawl and are skilled in all areas of MMA.

As well, Marcus Davis will face Mike Swick and Nathan Marquardt will lock up with Thales Leites at UFC 85 - BEDLAM. The MMA betting favorites were bankroll builders at UFC, but expect the puppies to bark on Saturday, June 7.
