The 2011 preseason football betting season began on Thursday, August 11th with five games. Usually, the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game kicks off the preseason but it was cancelled, due to the NFL Lockout. According to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell there just was not enough time, "Time is just too short," Goodell said. "We feel it's important for all 32 teams ... to start camp on the same date, or near the same date."
