BetUS March Madness Contest is Second to None

By D.S. Williamson

I just got done filling out my BetUS $1,000,000 March Madness Bracket Contest. I received a call from one of BetUS' excellent customer service reps over the weekend to remind me of how important it was for me to fill this bracket out.

In filling out my bracket, I took a look at each teams' overall record as well as what sort of style they play. It was a great exercise. I feel confident in making some single wagers on teams later this week and into the future.

There should be a few long-shots in the early rounds. I really think that USC got a raw deal having to play Kansas State in the first-round. Michael Beasley is a terrific player. He could put K-State into the second round.

I also think that the other three 11 seeds in each bracket - - Saint Joe's, Baylor and Kentucky - - have an excellent shot at winning straight-up. Georgia, as a 14 seed, could continue their hot streak in the first round versus an overrated Xavier team. I think that the Arizona Wildcats, just happy to be here, could put in a nice run into the Great Eight. I mean, they get to stay out West. What??

I also think that Kansas got a raw deal in the Midwest. Wisconsin, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, and Clemson in the same bracket? All four of those teams could present match-up issues for the Jayhawks.

North Carolina looks ultra-solid to represent the East in the Final Four. The toughest team from where I'm sitting looks to be Notre Dame before the Heels have to face either Tennessee or Louisville in the Great Eight. Neither Louisville nor Tennessee should put up a tremendous fight for the surging Tar Heels. It comes down to Ty Lawson and his ability to push the ball up the court.

Who got the best draw? In my mind it's no doubt UCLA. Connecticut got a four seed in the West? Are you kidding me? Connecticut couldn't beat this UCLA team if Ben Gordon and Emeka Okefor came back. I don't have UConn getting out of the second round which means that UCLA will have to play Drake to get into the Great Eight. Drake!

Then, the Bruins beat up on the Arizona Wildcats, whom they have beaten twice, the Duke Blue Devils, who just won't match-up well with them, or Xavier, who got a three seed even though they are terribly overrated. Place your March Madness picks and March Madness bracket predictions today!

Here is my Final Four with Final Two and National Champion:

Final Four
- - North Carolina, Wisconsin, Texas, UCLA

Final Two - - North Carolina vs. UCLA

National Champion - - UCLA

It's all about the Bruins, baby! Take that to the bank!

Until next week, good luck!
