Bridgestone Invitational Looks Ready For Perry

by BetUS Staff

This weekend's PGA Golf Event is the Bridgestone Invitational at the beautiful Firestone Country Club in South Akron, Ohio. For BetUS online golf betting enthusiasts the action is going to be intense as the defending champ, one Tiger Woods, will be missing in action.

It's a shame, really, because the purse for the Bridgestone Invitational is an amazing eight million dollars. Huge purses in golfing events inevitably lead to nice overlaid online wagers on some serious golfers. With the lack of Tiger Woods in this field, us online golf wagering fans will need to take a look at some of the other golfers ion the PGA Tour that could help pad our bankrolls!

Luckily, because there is no stand-out, a fair price will be had on almost any golfer that online betting fans choose to key on. That includes my pick to win the whole tournament, Mr. Kenny Perry.

The Bridgestone Invitational signals the return of forty-seven year old Kenny Perry. Perry didn't play in last weekend's British Open.

I don't know the reason why. I couldn't find anything about why Perry chose to skip the Brit Open. No worries. The old man is back! How good has Perry been this year? He is number one in the PGA this season as far as making the cut. In 20 events this season Perry has made the cut nineteen times. He has won 3 out of those 20 events and has placed in the top 10 in 7 of those 20 events. Perry is also second on the money list after Tiger.

That makes Perry one of the favorites this weekend in the Bridgestone Invitational. The forty-seven year old is playing better this season then he has played in his entire PGA career. He's not much to look at, a bit on the heavy side, receding hair-line, shorter than expected arms, but the man can play golf. For BetUS online sportsbook bettors, Kenny Perry is going to be the key to almost all of your wagers. This is especially true in golf match-up betting where you will be able to get Kenny Perry against a golfer that he no doubt will take to school at decent online odds.

Kenny Perry is +2000 in the BetUS online sportsbook to win the Bridgestone Invitational. BetUS online golf wagering fans need to take advantage.

Perry is the key golfer in this tournament. But he's not the only golfer that deserves some mentioning. How about Justin Leonard who is sixth on the money list and has made the cut 17 out of the 18 tournaments he has played in this season? Leonard is quietly having a terrific year. He has only won one tournament but he does have 5 top ten finishes and there's no doubt that at what will be nice BetUS online wagering odds Leonard could pick up his second victory of the year in the Bridgestone Invitational. Right now, Justin Leonard is +4500 to win the Bridgestone Invitational.

Then there's the Spaniard, Sergio Garcia. Garcia also only has one win this year but he has only played in thirteen events. He's made the cut twelve times and there's no doubt that Sergio will be looking to make amends after the debacle in the British Open. Garcia was the favorite and played terribly. The purse is eight million dollars. Garcia will be looking to get some of that. His online betting odds are currently + 1600. That makes him the second choice on the betting line.

Garcia is definitely a better play in my estimation then the favorite, Phil Mickelson. Mickelson will probably be the favorite, now that Tiger is on the shelf, in every golfing event he enters until El Tigre returns. Mickelson really isn't deserving of favoritism. Yes, he does have two victories this year out of 15 events and he has finished in the Top-Ten five times this year. But Lefty tends to go off at underlaid odds in every tournament he enters. That includes the Bridgestone Invitational where his online betting odds are currently +1000.

Who are some other golfers that could help BetUS online sportsbook PGA betting faithful make a few bucks? How about Stewart Cink and Anthony Kim, fourth and fifth on the money list respectively and both going off at online wagering odds of +2000?

Then, of course, there's good old Jim Furyk who hasn't won a tournament this year but does have 6 top-ten finishes. Furyk is also going off at online golf odds of +1800.

Finally, I have to mention Vijay Singh who on any given day could take the entire field to school. Vijay is going off at +3500. To me, those online gambling odds are just begging for me to make an online bet!

Whomever you decide to wager on make sure that you are getting fair online golf odds. This is golf where anything can happen!
