NFC South Conference - Carolina Panthers Preview

We feel that the Carolina Panthers will pose the biggest threat to Seattle for NFC supremacy this season, as Carolina reached the NFC Championship Game last season and looks even stronger this year!

While the addition of moody wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson went unnoticed by many, he gives the Panthers a second option to All-World receiver Steve Smith, something Carolina lacked last season when Smith was asked to do it all. With Smith seeing fewer double-teams, both receivers as well as quarterback Jake Delhomme should see their numbers improve this year. In addition to Johnson, the other impact player the Panthers added came via the draft in first round selection DeAngelo Williams. Remember that Carolina had the worst running game of any playoff team last year, and the multi-talented Williams changes that in a heartbeat. Williams should make a nice tandem with incumbent DeShaun Foster this year before taking over as the man next season. His presence may help keep Foster healthy for a change, as Foster should be more suited to the reduced workload.

Not only is the offense improved, but so is the defense, which is saying something considering this unit finished third in the NFL last season! This is because All-Pro defensive tackle Kris Jenkins is now fully healthy after being injured last season and the Panthers also made some nice additions. Carolina signed some, quality free agents like safety Shaun Williams (NY Giants) and defensive tackles Maake Kernoeatu (Baltimore) and Damione Lewis (St. Louis), and it also helped itself through the draft by taking cornerback Richard Marshall of Fresno State in the second round. It is very difficult to find any holes on this team right now, so we are picking the Carolina Panthers to win the NFC South division, as well as a Championship Game rematch with Seattle.

Prediction for 2006: 1st Place NFC South, NFC Championship Game Runner-up

After predicting multiple Super Bowl winners, expert NFL handicapper Mike "The Picker" Jones has returned with his 2012 Super Bowl XLVI prediction! His early Superbowl prediction was the New York Jets but after them falling apart towards the end of the regular season and missing out on the NFL playoffs, Mike now is going with the Patriots to win Superbowl XLVI. "I predict the AFC East New England Patriots will take down NFC powerhouse New York Giants by four points in the 2012 Super Bowl!" Good luck with all your 2012 NFL picks and have fun with a few Super Bowl prop bets at SBG Global Sportsbook, the world-wide leaders of online gambling!

Super Bowl XLVI Picks from JP - The New England Patriots and the New York Giants will meet once again in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, February 5th at 6:30pm ET in a rematch of the 2007 Super Bowl. The rematch will go down at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, where the Patriots will take the field as 3-point favorites over the New York Giants, but I have it going the other way. I think New York's defensive front will use the turf to its advantage and will get to Tom Brady enough times with their ferocious pass rush, while Eli Manning will slice up the Patriots' secondary, which will lead them to stop the Patriots at the finish line. The Pats may be the better team, but the Giants are the hotter club and that will translate onto the field on Super Sunday.
