College Football Gambling Lines - Betting on the NFL

College football gambling lines are similar to betting on the NFL. This is because college football gambling lines are also used to separate the two competing teams who will be playing one another in one of the scheduled games. But betting on college football gambling lines also has its differences with betting on the NFL football gambling lines in that there is a common tendency to see betting lines that are a lot higher in the NFL.

There could be a number of possible reasons for this. One reason could be that there is a significant difference in the number of competing teams in college football and of course there are also the various levels of quality that each team brings to every game.

Online sportsbooks and bookmakers usually use college football betting lines as a tool to try and get even more wagering action on both teams. What they usually do is declare one team as the favorite to win and then declare the competing team as the underdog.

There are many types of bets where gamblers and football fans can wager their money. Some of the more popular types are:

Straight Wager

The football team that is wagered on must be able to win by the point spread that is given at the time of the wager. When it comes to straight wagers, unless otherwise stipulated, the odds are usually $1.10 to win $1.00. If the game ends in a tie, the game will then be considered as "no action" and the money is re-deposited back into the gamblers' account.

Money Line

In a Money Line wager, the team wagered on just needs to win the game. The amount of money you lay or take for each game would vary. Also, the money line read at the time you place your wager is also the money line you keep. This is regardless of any line movement.

Total

In a Total wager, the combined score of both teams for the games that a bettor wagers on would win the bet. For example, if a bettor wagers Over on a game between Teams A and B, and the total score stipulated for the game is 35 then the bettor would win if the combined score is more than 35. A game where the total is equal to 35 is also considered a "No Action", and the wagers are returned to the bettors.
