Each of the players on your Fantasy Football team collects points during your league season by scoring touchdowns, gaining yards, making interceptions, etc. The way these points will be gained will be set before the season starts for your league, and everybody's team will gain points in the same way. For instance, your league regulations may be set so that when a running back or any other player actually scores a touchdown, he may make six points, which follows the same scoring as the real game does.
