2014 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship Predictions: Selection Sunday has come and gone, and according to NCAA's committee, the top four seeds in this year's NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament are Florida, Wichita State, Arizona and Virginia. In order words, we are in for one of the most difficult bracket to predict to date, as there will be no shortage of upsets this year!
Why the pessimism? When you take a look at those four teams, my immediate reaction - based on all the research done and years of experience - is to get ready for at least two of them to fail to reach the Final Four. In fact, I believe only Florida will survive the madness and reach the championship game, with Wichita State falling first, Virginia second and Arizona third - perhaps in the semifinals of the tourney.
So what does that leave us with? In my humble opinion, I have Florida, Michigan State, Louisville and Arizona in the Final Four. Ultimately, I believe it will come down to a showdown between Rick Pitino and Billy Donovan in the championship game, which would be a dream matchup for Gators and Cardinals fans alike.
In the end, the Florida Gators will show that steadiness and consistency wins the race, rather than the late-surging Louisville Cardinals would like it to be. A third National Title in 7 years is what awaits Billy "The Kid" Donovan in his team, as he continues to build a future Hall of Fame resume that will likely land him a job in the National Basketball Association.
