The NCAA Men's Basketball Championship Tournament has been a national institution dating all the way back to 1939. The first game was played at Patten Gymnasium at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. After traveling from the west coast by train, the Oregon Ducks defeated Olsen's Ohio State team, 46 - 33. This was the start of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament and the rest is history.
The 64-team tournament starts in the middle of March and runs none stop for 2-3 weeks until they reach the final four teams.
