The Florida State Seminoles pulled off the upset and beat the Miami Hurricanes 13 - 10 at the Orange Bowl! It was a game of superior defense. FSU had 176 total yards and Miami had 134 yards. With 2:21 remaining in the fourth quarter Jon Peattie had the chance to tie the game with a 28-yard chip shot. John Rochford snapped the ball just a little to low to holder Brian Monroe and hit Monroe's left hand and bounced away.

Drew Weatherford led the Seminoles 16 of 32 for 175 yards with one interception. Antone Smith had 9 carries for only 5 yards. He also had 3 receptions for 24 yards. De' Cody Fagg had 3 receptions for 60 yards for a 20.0 avg. Lorenzo Booker had 3 receptions for 47 yards for a 15.7 avg.

Kyle Wright led the Hurricanes 18 of 27 for 132 yards with one interception. Charlie Jones had 13 carries for 27 yards for a 2.1 avg. with one touchdown. Darnell Jenkins had 4 receptions for 54 yards for a 13.5 avg. Lance Leggett had 4 receptions for 39 yards for a 9.8 reception.
