Flying First Class has been confirmed by trainer D. Wayne Lukas to run in the $1 million Preakness Stakes at Pimlico on May 19th. He is coming up to the race in good order and doing what asked according to Lukas. Flying First Class came in first place on April 28th at the $100k Derby Trial Stakes at Churchill Downs. He had one other first place race this year on February 19th at the $33k Maiden Special Weight at Oakland Park. Flying First Class is owned by Ellwood W. Johnston and veteran jockey Mark Guidry, who plans to retire from the saddle in August, was aboard for the Derby Trial win and will ride Flying First Class in the Preakness.
