Free MLB Pick September 7th - Chicago -136 (Buehrle)
Chicago -136 (Buehrle) VS. Cleveland (Lee) 8:05 ET
The White Sox season might just come down to this four game set with the Cleveland Indians. Both Minnesota and Detroit are squaring off for four, so they can gain valuable ground on one of those teams if they're able to protect their house and sweep this four game set. They earned themselves a huge win last night at Boston to avoid the three game sweep. Jose Contreras pitched eight strong innings and Jim Thome went 4-for-4 with his 39th homer in a revamped White Sox lineup to carry Chicago to an 8-1 win over the Boston Red Sox Wednesday night. The bullpens rested, and Mark Buehrle was flown back early from the east coast to make sure he was ready for tonight's start. Both Jim Thome and Jermaine Dye rediscovered their home run stroke last night, and that could be a huge factor for this stretch run into the post-season. Cleveland's been playing better ball of late and has given the Sox trouble this year winning 5 of the 7 meetings, but the Sox are still clearly the better overall club in my opinion and should get the job done tonight at "The Cell".
