2011 Green Bay Packers Super Bowl Predictions

The Green Bay Packers Super Bowl predictions for the 2010-2011 Pro Football season are out. The Packers were in the hunt for the Super Bowl XLV championship title posting 10/1 odds early on. They are set to play against their NFC rivals Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild-Card Round of the 2011 NFL Playoffs this Sunday, January 9th at 4:30PM ET.

The Green Bay Packers offense is a very good passing offense. They are 5th in passing offense and 10th in points. Their quarterback Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and the Packers Super Bowl predictions basically go as far as how well he plays. Here is the issue with this team, they cannot protect the quarterback. What they need to do more of is run the ball. You need to run the ball in the playoffs, and if they don't do that, they could be in trouble.

The Green Bay Packers have a great defense. They are 5th in yards allowed and 2nd in points allowed. They are 2nd in getting pressure on the quarterback and in interceptions. They have one of the best players in getting to the quarterback in Clay Mathews and their defensive backs make plays in the secondary. There's one thing wrong about this defense, which is a big thing, and that is their rushing defense. They are 18th in rushing defense. In the playoffs, you need to stop the running game. They need to do a better job stopping the run.

The special teams are not good. They are 26th in kickoff return average and 22nd in punt return average, along with being 13th in kickoff return average allowed and 24th in punt return average allowed. Another big part of the playoffs is field position, and it doesn't look to favorable for the Packers Super Bowl predictions.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy and defensive coordinator Dom Capers has the offensive and defensive schemes to counterattack anything that their opponents will show them. They also have Aaron Rodgers who controls the Packers offense.

Green Bay Packers Super Bowl Predictions

In order to win in the playoffs, you need to run the ball and play good defense. As good as of a passing team they are and as much of a great passing defense they are, this team doesn't run the ball well, nor do they play good rushing defense. This team is all about how well Aaron Rodgers plays. That's not going to cut it in the playoffs. Everyone is mentioning how this team is the scariest team to play against in the playoffs. Well if they can't run the ball or stop the run, and this is the formula to win in the playoffs, how are they a scary team to play? If they turn it on and start doing these things, then this is a different story and they are a very dangerous team to play against. The odds of them winning are 10-1.
