The Vikings defense was sharp. They forced 4 turnovers including a 69 yard interception return for a touchdown by Fred Smoot. Quarterback Brad Johnson went 9-for-15 for 95 yards. Wendell Mathis rushed 10 times for 41 yards and Wide receiver Jason Carter had 2 receptions for 107 yards with one touchdown. The Vikings managed a 10 - 10 tie with the Cowboys, courtesy of Mike Vanderjagt, who missed to field goals in overtime. Quarterback Brad Johnson had a good game finishing 11 of 13 for 135 yards with one 24-yards touchdown pass to Marcus Robinson. Fason had 11 carries for 36 yards and Williamson had one reception for 40 yards.

The Washington Redskins finished second in the NFC East with a record of 10-6. They went 0-4 in the preseason. They lost their week 1 game 19 - 3 to the Bengals. Redskin's star running back Clinton Portis who didn't even want to play partially dislocated his left shoulder. Redskins' quarterback Jason Campbell was 9 of 15 for 99 yards. Wide receiver Mike Espy had 4 receptions for 56 yards and tight end Buck Ortega had one reception for 44 yards. They lost their week 2 game 27 - 14 to the Jets. In week 3 the Patriots stomped them 41 - 0. During week 4, the Ravens beat them 17 - 10. The Skins will have their work cut out for them in the regular season. Collins finished the game 13 of 22 for 201 yards with one touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Wide receiver Steven Harris had 3 receptions for 68 yards. Running back A.J.
