Jake Peavy

Peavy key for Padres

Have you ever gotten up in the morning and maybe you had the day off or it was a weekend, and your BetUS.com account was loaded and you said, "I think I'll bet some baseball today!" I do that almost every day. But then you look at the games and you say I really don't like anything today, but you still want some action.

You know what I mean; your favorite pitchers or teams are not going that day and you can't find a game to zero in on. Well here is what I do and maybe you can take a few pesos and still get some good action on a day when nothing jumps out at you. I take the highest total and I bet the over, then I take the lowest total and I go under. Here is my logic. You become the bookmaker.

If the over/under is high, the oddsmakers are looking for runs so go with them, they know their stuff. The same goes for the under, they think it's a low scoring game so go low, go with them, don't fight them.

Another thing I look for are streaks. If a team has won or lost more then 6 games in a row I like to go against the streak in the 7th game. Of course in cases like this you must eliminate the Kansas City Royals on the losing side, and maybe eliminate the White Sox on the winning side and look at the rest of the teams because the Sox are unconscious right now, and the Royals have been unconscious.

Last but not least, I use something I heard from Alex Karras and Paul Hornung. They were NFL players who were suspended for betting on games years ago. They said they would bet heavy on teams that had "off the field" problems.

Recently, we saw the Diamondbacks go winless for a week when the Grimsley HGH Story broke and Saturday the Phillies got beat after their starting pitcher was arrested for beating his wife the day before he took the mound, so that's another angle to look at. You'll see these angles work.

Chicago: Watch out Ozzie! I have taken several diversity classes in my time when I worked for large corporations. Their point was zero tolerance for slurs of any kind- either gender based or racial. The reason for this is a lawsuit. The corporation is responsible for your behavior in the workplace. That's why they hold the classes to help them get insurance against a lawsuit.

So when Sox GM Ken Williams tells Ozzie to cool it, he means it. Can you imagine if J. Mariotti took out a suit against the Sox, he could win it and the Sox could be on the hook for big bucks and no employee is worth that risk. What if gay folks decided to boycott Sox games and merchandise- that would cost the club money as well. To boot this is not the first time for Ozzie.

San Diego: My source (Nick Vourdabakis) tells me he was at the Padres game on Friday night and Jake Peavy was the Peavy of old (8IP, 6H, 1R, 1ER, 9K, 0BB). He added that Peavy made Ichiro look bad and struck him out TWICE! So next time out Jake Peavy may be a play. His next start will come this week in Oakland. If he hooks up with one of the A's young studs, the under could be a huge play.

My "dog only" system is now 7-1 in the last eight plays. The Marlins won for us on Friday. I know they lost 6-5, but the system gave us a run line play.
