2011 New Orleans Saints Super Bowl Predictions

The New Orleans Saints Super Bowl predictions for the 2010-2011 Pro Football season are out. The Saints remain in the hunt for the Super Bowl XLV championship title posting 12/1 odds. They are set to play against their NFC rivals Seattle Seahawks in the 1st Round of the 2011 NFL Playoffs this Saturday, January 8th at 4:30PM ET.

The New Orleans Saints offense has some issues in the running game coming into the playoffs. They have 2 of their main running backs who are out the whole playoffs, which isn't good because you need to run the ball in the playoffs to be successful. They now have to rely on two running backs that one was injured most of the year and the other barely got a snap the whole season. They still have the fire power in the passing game that will save this running game. They are 3rd in passing, and it helps the New Orleans Saints Super Bowl predictions when they have one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Drew Brees.

The New Orleans Saints defense has a good defense coming into the playoffs. They are 4th in yards allowed and 7th in points allowed. They are very good against the pass, 4th in passing defense, and can create turnovers. The one issue with this team is their rushing defense. They are a poor 16th ranked in rushing defense, which really isn't good because you need to stop the running game in the playoffs. They might be able to make it up with their turnover abilities, but they still need to stop the running game.

The special teams aren't that good. They are 15th in kickoff return average and 23rd in punt return average, along with being 24th in kickoff return average allowed and 28th in punt return average allowed. Field position is a big thing, and it doesn't look like that will benefit the Saints Super Bowl predictions.

Saints head coach Sean Payton has his team clicking at the right time. Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has done a great job with this defense. Also, it does help when you have a coach on the field as well, and that's what Drew Brees is.

New Orleans Saints Super Bowl Predictions

This team has been here before, and won the Super Bowl last year, so they know what to do in the playoffs. The defense is good enough to bring them back to the Super Bowl. They could be in trouble in the running game because 2 of their running backs are out. They will have to rely on Reggie Bush who is not a work horse back. If he can be the big time running back, there's no question that the Saints will at least go back to the Super Bowl. If they need to rely on the passing game, in which the Saints this year have been throwing too many interceptions, they could be in trouble. Even though everyone else doesn't trust Reggie Bush, I still believe that he can be a good enough running back. The odds of them winning are 12-1.
