NFL Football Wagering - NFL Wagering Strategy

The Super Bowl has come and gone and with it ends another year of NFL football wagering. For those of us who solely wager on NFL football now is the time to count our winnings and reflect on our losses (of which there were hopefully very few!). Given today's ease and convenience, NFL football wagering ought to be a fun and painless experience. However, if you find yourself reflecting more than counting come the tail end of winter it may be time to do a little drafting of your own. It is easy to chalk it all up to a run of bad luck (hey, it happens to the best of us), but it is better at such times to step back and assess your NFL wagering strategy. Perhaps it is no longer tried and true. Perhaps it is time to make some NFL wagering resolutions.

NFL football wagering resolution 1: Come pre-season, seek out news. Pre-season talk is when coaches display their plans. Part of successful NFL football wagering comes with understanding the coaches' approaches to upcoming games. The pre-season buzz is also a time to analyze player rotations, and which players the coaches will field in the first and the second half of games.

NFL football wagering resolution 2: Obsess over quarterback rotations. Prepare to bet on teams fielding vets against third and fourth stringers. It is common in pre-season and early season games for quarterbacks with starting experience will strut their stuff against inexperienced defensive lines. Count on these guys to move the ball.

NFL football wagering resolution 3: Bet against the new guys in the second half! You know these guys, the late round picks, those players floating just below the cream at the top. With little experience going up against professional defensive lines, the rookie quarterbacks struggle to get ahead.

NFL football wagering resolution 4: Totals! Totals! Totals! Every pre-season you can find the coaches looking to improve their running game, to test inexperienced quarterbacks, or to phase into a passing game. In the former two cases, go for the under bets, in the latter case go for an over -especially if the team has an experienced backup in the quarterback spot.

Keep these simple NFL wagering strategies in mind this August and you may well find it can be a most profitable month. Just think, this is still only pre-season! Stay on top of your handicapping and go for the good lines for the rest of the games and just see how much you will be counting come the end of the year.
