NFL Week 15 Picks 2010 - Bet Lions vs Buccaneers - Sunday, December 19th, 1:00PM ET FOX

The NFL week 15 picks 2010 on the Pro football betting season are out on the Detroit Lions vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday afternoon football match-up. This Sunday the Detroit Lions head to Raymond James Stadium as a 6 1/2 point underdog to battle the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Detroit Lions offense vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense is pretty evenly matched. The Lions are17th in both yards and points, while the Buccaneers are 16th in yards allowed and 13th in points allowed. the Buccaneers give up a lot of rushing yards, 27th in rushing defense, but the Lions are not that good in the running game either, 27th in rushing offense. The Lions have to run the ball successfully in order to set up the passing game because the Buccaneers are 11th in passing defense. Although the Buccaneers don't get a lot of sacks and they don't get too many turnovers. The Lions have been running the ball well as of late, so I will give the slight advantage to the Lions because they are now not just a passing team, which makes this team more dangerous. It also helps that they have arguably the best receiver in the game, Calvin Johnson. The NFL week 15 picks 2010 advantage goes to the Lions.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense vs the Detroit Lions defense is similar. The Buccaneers are 21st in yards and 22nd in points, while the Lions are 19th in yards allowed and 21st in points allowed. The Lions aren't good against the run, 22nd in rushing defense, which bodes well with this 11th ranked rushing offense. Expect a big day for the Buccaneers running backs. A good matchup to see is the offensive line against the defensive line. The Buccaneers don't give up a lot of sacks, 8th in sacks allowed, while the Lions are 6th in getting sacks. Everything in this matchup is pretty much even besides for the running game. Because of that, I'm going to give the NFL picks advantage to the Buccaneers.

The special teams are also pretty even. The Lions are 1st in kickoff return average and 5th in punt return average, while the Buccaneers are 13th in kickoff return average but 31st in punt return average. The Lions are 7th in kickoff return average allowed but 27th in punt return average allowed, while the Buccaneers are 9th in kickoff return average allowed and 8th in punt return average allowed. It's tough to find an advantage in this one, so you just have to look at the individuals. The special team's returner for the Lions is Stefan Logan, who is becoming one of the dangerous returners in the game. The Buccaneers don't have that dangerous returner, so because of this, I will give the NFL week 15 picks 2010 advantage to the Lions.

Both teams have two up and coming coaches. The Lions have head coach Jim Schwartz, who is a defensive minded coach that has this defense playing with passion. The offensive coordinator, Scott Linehan, has this offense playing well. The problem with this team is finishing games. The Buccaneers have a young coach in Raheem Morris, who has this team motivated. I guess a young coach and young players is a very good match. What makes them different than the Lions is that they are finishing games, and I believe it's because of the coaching staff keeping the team together. Advantage goes to the Buccaneers.

My NFL week 15 picks 2010 on the Detroit Lions vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday afternoon football game is out. The Buccaneers are going to do what they do best, and that's run the ball. The running game will help this passing game that is maturing every week. If the Lions continue to run the ball like they have been doing lately, they will keep this close, and possibly win this game. I just think that since they are on the road, they will make some kind of big mistake that will cost them. The Buccaneers will win this one, but I do believe that the Lions keep this close, 23-20.
