EXPERTS AT NINE.COM TACKLE TOP TEN WORST

December 7, 2005, San Jose, Costa Rica

With 2005 almost entirely behind us, sports analysts at Nine.com looked back at the year-that-was to determine the top ten worst sports gambles of 2005.

Nine.com is a leading online entertainment gambling site; their sportsbook routinely runs propositions on sports developments.

Several of this year's picks - including Terrell Owens being cut from the Eagles - sparked considerable wagering activity at Nine.com's sportsbook.

"A lot of otherwise intelligent athletes took foolish gambles this year," said Jack Abrams, spokesperson for Nine.com. "Our analysts continue to shake their heads in disbelief over some of this year's picks."

Worst Sports Gambles of 2005:

1. Philadelphia Eagles cutting T.O.
2. A-Rod playing poker in an underground casino instead of Nine.com
3. Rafael Palmeiro lying under oath before congress
4. The "new" regulated NHL
5. Signing Randy Johnson to pitch for the Yankees
6. Phil Jackson coming back to the Los Angeles Lakers
7. Mets signing Carlos Beltron
8. Miami heat signing Gary Peyton, Jason Williams and Antoine Walker
9. Kyle Orton growing a beard
10. Mike Tyson getting in the ring, reinforcing that his career is over

Honorable Mention:

* Scott Harper jumping off the ledge at Yankee Stadium
