Super Bowl Betting Odds

The odds to win Super Bowl XLVI are not so clearly predictable, and this year's game will prove to be an exciting one just like the previous Superbowls! The 2010 NFL season saw the Colts as the best odds to win the Super Bowl, and the Patriots as well, however, this advantage is only apparent, since the Patriots have suffered from a few major injuries this year, including Ted Bruschi's stroke and receiver Smith's broken leg. Both players seemed to have recovered well, much to the relief of fans and well-wishers, however, the loss of time to the Patriots has been a liability, which will challenge their odds to win the Super Bowl. No team has ever won three consecutive Super Bowl victories, and the odds to win the Super Bowl yet again are unprecedented. In spite of this, many people believe that the Patriots can deliver the goods yet again, and make Super Bowl history with three consecutive Super Bowl victories.

The Indianapolis Colts seem to have very good odds to win the Super Bowl as well, in spite of problems with their defense. Their nearly perfect record this season has inspired fans to long for the top victory, and Peyton Manning is expected to continue his consistent record for superb performance. However, defense is still an important part of the game, especially when dealing with another team's excellent offense, and many people see this as too great a flaw to give the Colts strong odds to win the Super Bowl. Others have pointed out that the Colts' Manning has yet to be victorious over the Patriots' Brady, although many support the Colts over the Patriots as the "underdog" team which has yet to win a Super Bowl victory. Many people think that is the Patriot's past success that, ironically, hurts their odds to win the Super Bowl again this year, since a three-time Super Bowl win would be unprecedented.

After predicting multiple Super Bowl winners, expert NFL handicapper Mike "The Picker" Jones has returned with his 2012 Super Bowl XLVI prediction! His early Superbowl prediction was the New York Jets but after them falling apart towards the end of the regular season and missing out on the NFL playoffs, Mike now is going with the Patriots to win Superbowl XLVI. "I predict the AFC East New England Patriots will take down NFC powerhouse New York Giants by four points in the 2012 Super Bowl!" Super Bowl XLVI Picks from JP - The New England Patriots and the New York Giants will meet once again in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, February 5th at 6:30pm ET in a rematch of the 2007 Super Bowl. The rematch will go down at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, where the Patriots will take the field as 3-point favorites over the New York Giants, but I have it going the other way. I think New York's defensive front will use the turf to its advantage and will get to Tom Brady enough times with their ferocious pass rush, while Eli Manning will slice up the Patriots' secondary, which will lead them to stop the Patriots at the finish line. The Pats may be the better team, but the Giants are the hotter club and that will translate onto the field on Super Sunday.

In the Western Division, the odds to win the Super Bowl seem equally divided between teams, but many believe that the Denver Broncos have a slight edge. Many people doubt that Oakland has good odds to win the Super Bowl, because their star player, Randy Moss, is currently out of favor due to his behavior on and off the field. His controversial remarks about smoking pot have not helped him or the team very much, and the performance as well as the image of Oakland has suffered in the past year. Denver's Jake "The Snake" Plummer, although sometimes inconsistent, is one of the best receivers currently playing the game, and as the Broncos main asset, Plummer's performance may be decisive in improving Denver's odds to win the Super Bowl.
