Betting Odds to Win the 2011 Pro Bowl

Pro Bowl Betting Odds - Sunday, 7:00 pm Eastern - Fox

This year's NFL Pro Bowl betting returns to Hawaii but since it is a week before the Super Bowl again this year, many of the top stars will not be in the game. The Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers will meet in Super Bowl XLV next week and that means none of their players will be participating in the Pro Bowl. They are not the only players who will be missing.

The NFC is a 1-point favorite with a total of 63 at SBG Global.com.

The Packers had five players selected for the game while the Steelers had three and 16 other players have pulled out of the NFL betting game. The NFC, coached by Atlanta's Mike Smith is a slight favorite over the AFC, coached by New England's Bill Belichick. The AFC will be without top quarterback Tom Brady but they do have some very good backups in San Diego's Philip Rivers and Indianapolis' Peyton Manning. The AFC won't have Pro Bowlers Maurice Jones-Drew, Andre Johnson or Antonio Gates but they do have the league's leading rusher in Arian Foster in addition to Kansas City's Jamaal Charles and Tennessee's Chris Johnson. Rivers should get the start in the game at quarterback and be followed by Manning and Kansas City's Matt Cassel. The AFC offense could have a lot of success against an NFC defense that is missing six starters. Green Bay's three players, Clay Matthews, Charles Woodson and Nick Collins are in Dallas for the Super Bowl while Detroit's Ndamukong Suh, San Francisco's Patrick Willis and Philadelphia's Asante Samuel will not be playing.

The NFC will be led Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick and he will be followed by Atlanta's Matt Ryan and New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees. The NFC has some talented wide receivers in Atlanta's Roddy White and Detroit's Calvin Johnson. Their running attack also looks good with Minnesota's Adrian Peterson, Atlanta's Michael Turner and St. Louis' Steven Jackson. The NFC will be going up against an AFC defense without Pittsburgh stars Troy Polamalu and James Harrison. Also missing are Baltimore's Ed Reed and Indianapolis' Dwight Freeney.

It should be another high scoring Pro Bowl on Sunday. The winning team has scored 30 points or more in 10 of the last 11 Pro Bowls. In the last 40 Pro Bowls each football betting team has won 20 times. Last year the AFC pulled out a 41-34 win with Houston quarterback Matt Schaub winning the MVP.
