Schoolyard Dreams Preakness Stakes Betting Odds

If you are one of many horse racing fans thinking about placing a Schoolyard Dreams bet on his Preakness odds, you are not alone. In fact, since the 2010 Preakness odds were posted mid-week, Schoolyard Dreams' bets poured in pushing his odds higher. It might had to do with what trainer Derek Ryan said regarding his six weeks off between his last race (Grade I Wood Memorial) and the Preakness Stakes this Saturday. The current Preakness Betting Odds on Schoolyard Dreams are +1500 at Sportsbook.com.

"He's one of those horses who will benefit from five to six weeks between races rather than three to four," mentioned Ryan, who was stuck running Schoolyard Dreams in the Wood Memorial off three weeks rest in order to make the Kentucky Derby field. Unfortunately he wasn't ready and suffered. "He's not a robust horse that you can run every three weeks, so it wasn't an ideal situation, and the horse wasn't 100 percent." Missing the Kentucky Derby now allows Ryan to run Schoolyard Dreams in the Preakness, giving him another shot two years in a row. Last year he went with Musket Man who placed a respectable third place.

Schoolyard Dreams has a 2-2-1-1 record in 6 starts. He competes well on several surfaces. In his first graded Stakes race on February 13th, Schoolyard Dreams gave in to Rule to finish second in the Grade III Sam F. Davis. In another race he should have won, he placed second to Odysseus in the Grade III Tampa Bay Derby on March 13th. Three weeks later Schoolyard Dreams placed fourth in the Grade I Wood Memorial on April 3rd. In reality he should have a much better record.

Schoolyard Dreams is a 3-year-old colt, owned by Eric Fein & Triple Diamond Stables. His trainer is Derek S. Ryan and Eibar Coa will be the seventh jockey in as many starts for Schoolyard Dreams. His pedigree is from Stephen Got Even and Hear This by Prospectors Music. He is posting 15/1 odds to win the Preakness Stakes (a $10 wager pays $150). Good luck betting on the 2010 Preakness and enjoy watching all the intense horse race betting action from Pimlico Race Course. The second leg of the prestigious Triple Crown will broadcast live on NBC this Saturday, May 15th beginning at 4:30pm ET with a race time set for 6:15pm ET.
