There is no response from Soriano as of yet, as the Angels want him to agree to a five-year deal worth $60 million. Angels owner Arte Moreno likes the Latin players to attract the SoCal people, so he really wants Soriano. However, moving Kennedy would be an unpopular move with the fans.
Both New York teams, as well as Boston were also rumored to be in the mix for his services. Soriano will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. He is widely regarded as the type of player that can swing a playoff spot battle.
Philadelphia's Bobby Abreu is another big ticket player rumored to be on the move as well.
