Video of the Year Betting Odds - 2006 MTV VMA Odds
2006 Video Music Award Betting Odds sponsored by Bodog Sprtsbook"I want people to jump out of their seats! My record is about having a good time straight through and non-stop", says Madonna. Nominated for yet another MTV Video Music Award several years after the start of her career she has re-invented herself again, this time as a disco queen.
Madonna has been one of the most controversial yet influential artists since her debut. Her most recent track "Hung Up" is up for Video of the Year. Madonna has created controversy every time she creates a new album. From her infamous appearance on David Lettermen in 1994 when she used the F word 13 times on live TV to her on stage "hook up" with Britney Spears at 2003's VMAs, Madonna brings attention to herself no matter what stage of her life she is in.

This year though, she has competition. With the likes of Christina Aguilera, Shakira, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Panic! At the Disco, she is not the expected winner of the award. The odds are against her considering the difference in her album sales and the hype behind some of the competition's albums much like Christina Aguilera, who has been compared to Madonna since she first hit the music scene.
People have moved on. They have offered their loyalty to other artists, different types of music. There is a time and place for "disco" music and I don't think now is it. Although "Hung Up" is an upbeat, catchy track, I don't think it'll be enough to grab the title this year. Christina Aguilera might just take the cake. We'll have to tune in to find out!
