Weekend College Football Preview

The battle of the titans between Ohio State and USC may be the headliner on this weekend's college football slate, but it's not the only ranked matchup on the NCAAF betting schedule; No. 13 Kansas takes on No. 19 South Florida, and No. 10 Wisconsin drops in on No. 21 Fresno State.

The Jayhawks romped through their first two games of the season, crushing Florida International 40-10 and shutting out Louisiana Tech 29-0 last week as a 21.5-point favorite on the NCAAF odds. Kansas quarterback Todd Reesing tore apart the Bulldogs, passing for 418 yards with three touchdowns.

The Bulls began the season with an impressive 56-7 drubbing of Tennessee-Martin, but they had trouble with UCF last week in a 31-24 overtime victory. The Bulls were a 14-point favorite on the NCAAF odds in that game and failed to cover the spread. South Florida QB Matt Grothe connected with Taurus Johnson in overtime to make up for a pair of interceptions he tossed earlier in the game.

The Bulls and Jayhawks met two years ago when Kansas edged South Florida 13-7 as a 3.5-point home favorite. In Friday night's rematch the Bulls are a 3-point home favorite.

The Badgers started the season somewhat slowly with a 38-17 win over Akron as a 24.5-point favorite. Wisconsin amped it up last week with a 51-14 whipping of Marshall as a 20.5-point favorite. Wisconsin running backs P.J. Hill and John Clay combined to rush for 111 yards with two touchdowns apiece in the onslaught.

The Bulldogs just got their season started early last week with 24-7 upset win over Rutgers as a 3-point underdog. Running back Ryan Matthews carried the Fresno State offense on his back with 163 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries.

The Badgers may be the visiting squad in Saturday night's game, but they're still a small 1-point favorite.
