College Football Betting Preview: West Virginia vs Colorado

West Virginia at Colorado
Thursday, September 18, 2008 8:30 pm Eastern - ESPN

SBG Global Opening Line:
West Virginia -3, Total 57

The West Virginia Mountaineers will try and get back to basics on Thursday night as they travel to Colorado to face the Buffaloes. The Mountaineers played badly in their 24-3 loss to East Carolina on September 6th and head coach Bill Stewart has said the team will get back to running the ball on Thursday. Quarterback Pat White is 334 yards of becoming only the second quarterback in NCAA history to rush for more than 4,000 yards in his career.
"To run the ball you've got to knock them off the ball and when you pass protect you can't get knocked back into the quarterback," Stewart said. SBG Global reports that early College Football betting has the public taking West Virginia on the Road.

The other problem for West Virginia is a defense that gave up 386 yards to East Carolina. They will be facing a Colorado offense that has put up more than 30 points in both of their wins against Colorado State and Eastern Washington. Quarterback Cody Hawkins has completed 71.6 percent of his pass attempts for 475 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Colorado has forced five turnovers, six sacks and has allowed just 118 yards rushing and an average of 2.5 yards per carry so far this year. This is the first trip for West Virginia to Colorado in 28 years. They defeated Colorado State back in 1980.

Here are the College Football betting stats for Thursday's game. The Mountaineers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games on grass. The Mountaineers are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 road games.

The Buffaloes are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games following a win.
